Summary
The Network Administrator is responsible for maintaining, upgrading, and managing software, hardware, and networks. Resourcefulness is a necessary skill in this role. Ability to diagnose and resolve problems quickly. Communicate with a variety of interdisciplinary teams and users. Ensure that technology infrastructure runs smoothly and efficiently. Collaborate and offer necessary technical support for firewall and network systems.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

- Install and configure IT infrastructure.
- Ensure efficiency of IT infrastructure.
- Install and configure software and hardware.
- Upgrade systems with new releases and models.
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues.
- Manage network servers and technology tools.
- Monitor performance and maintain systems according to requirements.
- Troubleshoot and resolve network-related outages.
- Ensure security through access controls, backups, and firewalls.
- Develop Expertise to train staff on new technologies.
- Monitor and support Business Continuity/Disaster Recovery processes
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Education and/or Experience
- BS/BA in Information Technology. Computer Science or a related discipline or
- 10 years of Experience.
Special Requirements
- Possession of a valid N.C. driver’s license.
Preferred requirements:
- Preferred Professional certification (e.g., Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSAQ))
- Preferred (Hyper-V experience).
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Has proven experience as a System Administrator, Network Administrator, or similar role.
- Experience with databases, networks (LAN, WAN) and patch management.
- Knowledge of system security (e.g., intrusion detection systems) and data backup/recovery (Veeam).
- Experience with Microsoft Active Directory, DNS and DHCP Server.
- Experience in maintaining Virtual environments
- Familiarity with various operating systems and platforms.
- Resourcefulness and problem-solving aptitude. Excellent interpersonal skills.
Job Related Physical Requirements
This position involves sedentary work requiring the employee to exert up to 25 pounds of force regularly this is not high enough, occasionally up to 50 pounds of force to move objects this is not enough. Physical activity related to this position may include the use of fingers and hands, and repetitive motions. Sufficient visual acuity is required to prepare and analyze data and figures; do extensive reading; and use an electronic display.
